Message from Director
It is my proud privilege to welcome you on the web site of the National Institute of Homoeopathy. The Institute was established on 10th December, 1975 at Kolkata as an autonomous unit under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Presently, it is under the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. This Institute was ingrained as to be a model of excellence and honoured as the Regional Centre of Traditional Medicine (Homoeopathy) in south East Asia.
The Institute runs courses for Undergraduate (BHMS) as well as Post graduate MD. (Hom) students. The Hospital attached to this Institute has 100 beds for inpatients, it has a large Out-Patient department and well equipped laboratory.
We at the Institute are committed to:
a) Evolve patterns of teaching to achieve a high standard of medical education in Homoeopathy.
b) Bring together in one place educational standard of the highest order for the trainees on Homoeopathy.
c) Achieve self sufficiency in creating a large talent pool of well qualified under graduate/ post graduate medical experts in Homoeopathy.
The Institute aims to have a high standard of education to create unlimited opportunities for the students and meet the demands of the nation in building up reservoir of knowledge of clinical aspects of homoeopathy.
It aims to set up an outstanding level of patient care in its hospital, perform high quality of research publishing articles in medical Journals of Homoeopathic studies.
The expanded knowledge should be of immediate practical use so that the rural folk,the tribal poor,urban slum dweller and the under privileged of the entire country can have a healthy mind and body at a considerably reduced financial cost.
The Institute reflects our collective character and aspirations. It is critical need that the teaching standard in class rooms should reach new high. We have to work with a missionary spirit. Let us have faith.We have to work hard with greater conviction. It is our responsibility to raise the reputation and status of the Institute from national level to international level so that students from neighbouring countries choose India as a first preference place for higher studies.
All stake holders must participate whole heartedly in fulfilling the aim.
